A railway town split in two

The Western line cuts St Marys neatly in half. South of the tracks is the town most people know: Queen Street running down from the station, the St Marys Village centre on Charles Hackett Drive, Ripples leisure centre and the old church of St Mary Magdalene on Magdalene Street. North of the line, around Forrester Road, it is workshops, car yards and industry, plus the rugby league club.

That split matters for a cab. A pickup "near the station" could be either side, and the quickest way across depends on where you are. We collect shift workers from the north side, shoppers and families from the south, and a steady run of people heading to Nepean Hospital in Kingswood. Sedans and SUVs take four; a maxi taxi in St Marys takes 7 or 11.

Our St Marys taxi number is 02 7265 1227, answered 24/7. You get a fixed quote including tolls and GST, and you can pay by card, Cabcharge, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash.

Named after the church

The town was first called South Creek. It took its name from St Mary Magdalene, built between 1837 and 1840, and the Bennett family's coach and wagon works once made the horse-drawn wagons now on show beside the Great Western Highway at South Creek Park.

Pickup points

Six places we meet St Marys passengers

If yours is not listed, give us the street and the nearest corner.

  1. St Marys station, south side

The entrance on the corner of Queen and Station Streets. The station has a taxi rank and a kiss and ride area.

  2. Queen Street shops

Say which end. Coachmans Park, at Queen Street and Charles Hackett Drive, makes an easy landmark in the middle.

  3. St Marys Village

The single-level centre on Charles Hackett Drive, with ground-level parking right outside.

  4. Ripples St Marys

Also on Charles Hackett Drive. A regular pickup after swimming lessons and hydrotherapy.

  5. St Marys Rugby League Club

North of the line, on the corner of Forrester and Boronia Roads. Tell us it is the north side so we do not go looking on Queen Street.

  6. Nepean Hospital, Kingswood

The closest major hospital. The Emergency Department vehicle entry is off Somerset Street.

Queen Street closed to traffic for the St Marys Spring Festival, with market stalls, crowds and a Road Closed sign

St Marys, now and next

Festival closures today, a metro terminus tomorrow

Spring Festival. Each September, Queen Street closes to traffic for the St Marys Spring Festival, with stalls stretching from King Street up towards the station and a parade along the street. On festival day, arrange your pickup on a side street or at the station, not on Queen Street itself.

The airport metro. St Marys is the northern end of the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport line, which is being built to connect with the T1 Western Line here. The new station sits under the existing one, with entries planned on Station Street and Harris Street, and is planned to open in late 2027. Until then, expect construction around the station precinct and allow a few extra minutes.

Maxi cabs, baby seats and wheelchair access

From a maxi for a football team to a baby capsule for the ride home from Nepean. Tell us what you need and we send the right car. Our wheelchair accessible vehicle is booked ahead.

St Marys to Sydney Airport, or the new one

For Mascot, a taxi from St Marys takes 55 to 70 minutes off-peak. The M4 ramps at Mamre Road are close, but the motorway gets heavy towards Parramatta, so for an international flight on a weekday morning leave around three and a half hours before departure.

Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek, due to open to passengers in late 2026, is only 25 to 35 minutes south. For arrivals, include your flight number and we time the pickup to your landing. The full details are on our airport transfer page.
