Special Event Transport in Sydney

Special event transport for the nights Sydney gets busy and the days that only happen once. Tell us where, when and how many, and we plan the ride there and the ride home together.

Events we plan transport for

From a single sedan for the bride to a Hiace full of friends heading to a stadium show, each booking starts with the same questions: how many people, which stops and what time the night really ends.

Weddings

Cars for the couple, the parents and the bridal party, timed against the ceremony, the photos and the reception. See wedding planning

Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park behind a plaza of tall coloured poles

Concerts and sport at Sydney Olympic Park

Stadium concerts, footy finals and the Royal Easter Show at Sydney Showground. Traffic around the precinct is heavily managed on big nights, so we agree a pickup spot outside the busiest streets before you go in.

School formals

Parents book, students arrive together in a Kia Carnival or maxi, and every drop-off address home is set before the night starts.

Birthdays, hens and bucks nights

Dinner in Surry Hills, drinks in the city, home to three suburbs. One vehicle keeps the group together. Seatbelts on and no smoking, as always.

Vivid Sydney and New Year's Eve

Vivid runs for weeks each winter and New Year's Eve is one very long night, and both bring some of the biggest crowds Sydney sees to the harbour. Closures around the Quay change how pickups work, so read the planning notes below.

Corporate functions

Christmas parties, awards nights and client dinners. Put the cars on a corporate account and staff get home without a single expense claim.

Wedding car hire in Sydney, planned leg by leg

Wedding car hire in Sydney tends to fall apart on timing, not on the car. The ceremony runs late, the photographer wants ten more minutes at Mrs Macquarie's Point, and suddenly the reception is waiting. We plan every leg before the day so the slack is already built in.

For the couple, a premium sedan such as a Lexus or Audi, presented like our chauffeur service with a suited driver and the door held. For the bridal party or parents, a Kia Carnival or a Toyota Hiace maxi keeps everyone together. Flower girls and page boys can travel in a child seat fitted before pickup; see our baby seat taxi page.

Photo locations like Observatory Hill or the foreshore around the Opera House have very little kerbside space, so we agree where the car drops off and waits. Weddings in the Hunter Valley, the Southern Highlands or the Blue Mountains are fine too, with guest shuttles from a hotel to the venue.

A typical wedding day booking

  1. 1 Home or hotel to the ceremonyArrive composed, with a few minutes spare.
  2. 2 Ceremony to the photo locationDrop-off and waiting point agreed in advance.
  3. 3 Photos to the receptionTimed so the couple walks in when the MC is ready.
  4. 4 Reception to home or hotelBooked now, so nobody is phoning around at midnight.

Planning notes for Vivid, New Year's Eve and stadium shows

These nights are where most transport plans come unstuck. A few decisions made in advance make the difference between a car at the kerb and an hour on the footpath.

Expect closures around Circular Quay and The Rocks

During Vivid Sydney and on New Year's Eve, roads around Circular Quay, The Rocks and the harbour foreshore are closed or restricted, some from early in the day on 31 December. The details change each year, so check Transport for NSW before you lock in plans.

Agree a pickup point away from the closures

We confirm a pickup spot outside the closed area before the night, and a time to meet there. Mobile networks struggle in big crowds, so do not count on a call to find each other. A short walk back towards Wynyard, Town Hall or Hyde Park is usually quicker than waiting at the edge of the crowd.

Book the return trip at the same time

Demand for cars jumps the moment the fireworks finish or the encore ends. Choose a return booking when you book the trip in, and you have a car arranged before everyone else starts looking.

Allow extra time in both directions

Crowds, detours and slow traffic around the CBD and Sydney Olympic Park add time. Leave earlier than feels necessary, and for a wedding or formal build in 15 to 20 minutes of slack.

Travelling with a larger group? Our maxi cabs seat up to 11 people, which beats coordinating three separate cars after midnight.

Special event transport questions

Premium sedans, including Lexus and Audi, for the couple and family, plus SUVs, the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Hiace maxi for bridal parties and guests. Tell us the style you have in mind and we will confirm what is available for your date.
