A town centre on one side of the tracks

Mount Druitt's centre is compact. The station sits on North Parade with the bus interchange right beside it, Dawson Mall leads up to Westfield Mt Druitt on the corner of Carlisle Avenue and Luxford Road, and TAFE NSW is a few blocks east at North Parade and Mount Street. Mount Druitt Hospital on Railway Street is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the station, which is a long way when you are unwell.

Beyond the centre the streets spread out towards the Great Western Highway and the M4, and late at night the buses to the outer streets are far less frequent. That is when people ring us. We carry commuters, hospital patients and their families, TAFE students, and plenty of people going to or from the airport. Sedans and SUVs take up to four; a maxi cab takes up to 11.

"Mount Druitt" usually means a dozen suburbs

The smaller suburbs around the town centre, from Bidwill in the north to Minchinbury in the south-east, are often called the Mount Druitt area as a group, and they share the 2770 postcode.

Handy as a label, less handy for a booking. When you call, give us the actual suburb and a cross street, and your driver goes straight to the right place instead of the wrong end of the area.
