Taxi Service in Sydney's Northern Suburbs

Ryde, Epping and Macquarie Park sit in the middle of everything, which is exactly why getting out of them at 8am can take longer than it should.

Silver Sydney Taxi takes booked and same-day taxi trips right across the Northern Suburbs, from the office blocks along Waterloo Road and Talavera Road in Macquarie Park to the quiet streets of Denistone and Putney. Book online or call, and a licensed driver is assigned to your trip before you head out the door.

Much of our work here is regular and routine. Early starts to Sydney Airport. Students with a boot full of boxes at the start of semester. Staff heading home after a late shift at Ryde Hospital. Clients collected from Macquarie Park for meetings in the city. Our corporate transfers and airport transfers are booked the same simple way as a quick ride to the shops.

Fares don't jump when it rains or when the whole business park leaves at once. We don't use surge pricing, and you can pay by card, cash, Cabcharge, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Suburbs we cover

Four pockets, one local taxi service

The Northern Suburbs split naturally along the rivers and main roads. Here is how our drivers think about the area.

Macquarie Park and surrounds

Offices, the university and the Metro stations around Herring Road and Waterloo Road.

Macquarie Park North Ryde Marsfield

Ryde and the river

Top Ryde City, Victoria Road and the ferry wharf at Meadowbank.

Ryde Top Ryde West Ryde Meadowbank Putney

The Epping side

The Epping station interchange, Rowe Street in Eastwood and Carlingford Court.

Epping Carlingford Eastwood Denistone

Towards the harbour

The Victoria Road shops, the Gladesville Bridge approach and the older streets of Hunters Hill.

Gladesville Hunters Hill

Heading just over the border? We also cover Chatswood and Lane Cove on the Lower North Shore, Hornsby and Pymble on the Upper North Shore, and Parramatta to the west.

Local destinations

Where Northern Suburbs passengers ask to go

Uni, hospital, work, shops and the station. Give us the building, entrance or cross street in Special Instructions and your driver will head straight there.

Macquarie University

Lectures, exams, graduations and moving into student housing. Tell us the building or car park you want and we will meet you there. Macquarie University Hospital on the campus is a regular pickup too.

Macquarie Park business district

Client pickups, team dinners and airport runs from the offices between Lane Cove Road and Herring Road. Businesses can set up an account and be invoiced instead of paying trip by trip.

Macquarie Centre

One of Sydney's largest shopping centres, on the corner of Herring Road and Waterloo Road. Handy when the shopping is too heavy to carry onto the Metro.

Ryde Hospital

Appointments, visiting hours and discharge pickups at Ryde Hospital on Denistone Road. If you need a hand from the car to the entrance, book our door to door service.

Top Ryde City

Supermarkets, shops and restaurants on Devlin Street. We pick up from the entrance you name rather than stopping in the traffic on Devlin Street itself.

Epping, Macquarie Park and West Ryde stations

Collections after late trains, during weekend trackwork and when Metro services are replaced by buses. Epping is the big one, with both Sydney Trains and the Metro.

Typical travel times from the Northern Suburbs

Off-peak estimates by road, in minutes. Weekday peaks on Victoria Road, Lane Cove Road and the M2 can add a lot, so allow a buffer for flights and appointments.

Local road knowledge

The roads that decide how long your trip takes

Four roads carry most of the traffic in and out of this area. When one of them is jammed, the way around it is usually through suburbs the sat-nav doesn't suggest. That is where a local driver earns their keep.

M2 Motorway

Tolled

A tolled motorway along the edge of North Ryde and Macquarie Park. Heading west it runs out to the Hills District and the M7. Heading east it feeds the Lane Cove Tunnel towards the city. We only use toll roads when they save you real time.

Victoria Road

Arterial

The main line from Parramatta through West Ryde, Top Ryde and Gladesville, then over the Gladesville Bridge. It clogs in both peaks. Off-peak it is our usual path to the Rozelle Interchange and WestConnex for airport runs.

Devlin Street and Lane Cove Road

Arterial

The north to south spine linking Top Ryde, North Ryde and Macquarie Park, running from the M2 down to Church Street and Ryde Bridge. Expect queues near the business park when offices empty out.

Epping Road

Arterial

Runs from Epping past Marsfield and Macquarie Park towards Lane Cove. A useful alternative when there is a breakdown on the M2, and the direct way to the Epping station interchange.

School zones around Epping, Eastwood and Ryde slow the morning and afternoon runs, and Hunters Hill's narrow streets need a patient driver. We plan pickups with both in mind. Travelling north or west instead? The M2 connects you quickly to the Hills District.

Northern Suburbs taxi FAQs

Yes. Tell us the building, car park or nearest street in Special Instructions and the driver will meet you there. On graduation days and at the start of semester the roads around campus get busy, so allow a little extra time.
