A station, a shopping centre and a long main road
Merrylands sits about 25 kilometres west of the city in Cumberland Council, and most of daily life happens in a tight triangle: the station on Railway Terrace, Stockland Merrylands on McFarlane Street, and the shops running along Merrylands Road. Beyond that it is mostly houses and newer apartment blocks, stretching west towards Merrylands West and the Cumberland Highway.
The trains are good for the city. They are less help when you are carrying a week of groceries up Pitt Street, taking an elderly parent to an appointment at Westmead, or flying out with four suitcases. That is most of what we do here. We also collect guests leaving functions at the Holroyd Centre on Miller Street and rugby crowds heading home from Granville Park.
A sedan or SUV carries up to four passengers. For the extended family, a maxi cab seats up to 7 or up to 11, and we fit baby seats on request. For a wedding, an engagement or a big birthday, our event transfers get a group there together and home again.

The runs we do most from Merrylands
Off-peak road times. The M4 on a weekday afternoon and Woodville Road in the evening peak can both stretch these, and we allow for it when we set your pickup time.

North on Pitt Street. Handy for Church Street, the courts and the Westfield.

Where to meet your driver
A named spot saves a lap of the block, especially around the station and the shopping centre car park.
Merrylands station
The entrance faces Railway Terrace. Buses use the stands on Terminal Place, so a booked car usually meets you in the kiss and ride area instead.
Stockland Merrylands
The centre fronts McFarlane Street and has more than 2,000 parking spaces. Tell us if you are in the car park or at a street entrance and we will come to you.
Merrylands Road shops
Bakeries, grocers and cafes west of the station. Give us the nearest cross street and we pull up on your side of the road.
The Holroyd Centre
Council function rooms at 11 to 17 Miller Street. Tell us the room, Wattle, Boronia or Waratah, and book the ride home before the speeches start.
Central Gardens Nature Reserve
On Merrylands Road at the Cumberland Highway in Merrylands West. Kangaroos, emus and picnic pavilions, and a long walk back to the car with tired kids.
Westmead Hospital
Not in Merrylands, but a daily run. There is no rank at Westmead, so we agree the entrance before we arrive.
Game day in Granville Park
Eric Tweedale Stadium, and the walk back to Montrose Avenue
The old Granville Park ground was rebuilt and reopened in November 2021, with a glulam timber grandstand and room for about 5,000 people. It is named after the rugby player Eric Tweedale, who turned 100 that year. Parramatta's Shute Shield rugby side plays here, Parramatta City FC uses the fields, and the Eels women played home games here in the 2024 NRLW season.
The park has a longer story too: during the Second World War it was the site of US Naval Base Hospital No 10.
Before kick-off
Montrose Avenue fills with parked cars on match days. Book your ride home when you book the ride there, and we will agree a meeting point a short walk from the gates.

Merrylands to Sydney Airport
Out west, the motorway decides the pickup time
Off-peak, Merrylands to either terminal takes 35 to 50 minutes, mostly on the M4 and then through the WestConnex tunnels. A weekday morning is a different story, so for an early flight we set the pickup around the traffic rather than the map.
For international departures, leave about three hours before your flight. Coming home, add the flight number to your booking and we watch the landing time. The airport transfer page covers terminals and luggage.
