Booking a cab in Liverpool

Liverpool is one of the oldest towns in the country, founded by Governor Macquarie in 1810 on the western bank of the Georges River, and its early street grid still shapes the drive. Macquarie Street runs north through the middle of town to Westfield Liverpool. The hospital precinct sits to the east near the river. The Hume Highway carries everyone in and out, and it is rarely quiet.

Those streets now hold apartment towers, the TAFE, the Western Sydney University and University of Wollongong campuses, and one of the biggest hospitals in the state. A lot of our Liverpool work comes from people who cannot easily drive: patients heading home after a procedure, visitors from out of town, nurses and doctors on shifts that end at 3am.

We also pick up from the suburbs around the centre. Warwick Farm to the north, Chipping Norton and Moorebank across the river, Casula to the south, Prestons and Lurnea to the west. Sedans and SUVs take up to four passengers, and a maxi cab seats 7 or 11 when the whole family is going somewhere together.

Every fare is a fixed quote given upfront, with tolls and GST already included. No surge pricing on a Friday night, and you can pay by card, Cabcharge, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash. Call 02 7265 1227 for a car now or book one for later.

Common runs

Trips we drive from Liverpool every week

Off-peak road times. The M5 and the Hume Highway both slow right down in the weekday peaks, so for anything time critical we build in a margin.

    30 to 40 min
  2. Sydney CBD

M5 and the tunnels, or the Hume Highway when the motorway is jammed.

    40 to 50 min
  3. Parramatta

Up the Cumberland Highway past Smithfield, or the M7 and M4.

    25 to 35 min
  4. Western Sydney International, Badgerys Creek

Out along Elizabeth Drive and the new M12.

Liverpool Hospital

The hospital campus has moved its doors. We keep up.

Liverpool Hospital is the second largest hospital in New South Wales and it is in the middle of a major rebuild. Drop-off points that worked for years have gone, and the old zones on Campbell and Forbes Streets closed when stage two of the works began in December 2024.

Tell us where your appointment is and we will take you to the right door. That saves a long walk around hoarding with a walking frame or a newborn.

  • Entrance A, Goulburn Street

Maternity and birthing, NICU, pathology and the cancer clinics. The emergency department and its drop-off are on Goulburn Street too.

  • Entrance J, Burnside Drive

Admissions, the wards, ICU, pharmacy, medical imaging and general outpatients. Also the way in to the P2 and P3 car parks.

Signs on site change as the works move along. If you are unsure, check your appointment letter and read us the entrance letter.

Pickup points around town

Where Liverpool passengers most often ask us to meet them, and what helps the driver find you first time.

Liverpool station and the bus interchange

Right beside the platforms is the bus interchange, including the T80 T-way to Parramatta. When trackwork swaps trains for buses, it gets crowded. Tell us which side of the station you are waiting on.

Westfield Liverpool

Car park entries are on Campbell, Northumberland, Bathurst and George Streets, and the centre lists a taxi stand on George Street. George Street is the easiest place for us to meet you with shopping bags.

Warwick Farm Racecourse

On the Hume Highway just north of town. On race days the car park empties slowly, so book the ride home early and pick a meeting spot away from the main gate.

Whitlam Leisure Centre and Woodward Park

Swimming carnivals, basketball and weekend sport on the western side of the centre. Parents often book the return trip for a group of kids in a maxi cab.

Worth knowing

Moorebank and Chipping Norton sit just across the Georges River from the city centre, but the bridges decide how long the trip takes. Give us the street, not just the suburb, and we will pick the right crossing.

Maxi taxis, baby seats and wheelchair access

Big families, new parents leaving the maternity ward, and patients who travel in their own chair. Mention it when you book. The wheelchair accessible vehicle needs to be booked ahead.

Liverpool to Sydney Airport

Two airports, both within reach

Mascot is 30 to 40 minutes away off-peak, straight along the M5. Early morning departures are usually smooth. The afternoon run east can crawl, so for an evening international flight we suggest leaving a good three hours before take-off.

Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek is the other way, out Elizabeth Drive. It runs without a curfew, which means some very early and very late flights. We book those like any other airport trip.

Coming home? Put your flight number in the booking and we time the pickup to your landing. More on our Sydney Airport taxi page.

Calm water and a sandy bank at Chipping Norton Lake, with casuarina trees on the shore
Chipping Norton Lake, a short drive from the centre. Weekend picnic crowds here often ride home with us.

Liverpool taxi questions

If yours is not here, ring us. Someone picks up at any hour.

It depends on the department. Maternity, birthing and the cancer clinics use Entrance A on Goulburn Street, where the emergency department is as well. Wards, admissions and imaging use Entrance J on Burnside Drive. Tell us the department when you book and we will head to the right one.
