Book a taxi in Hurstville

Sixteen kilometres south of the CBD, Hurstville is the administrative centre of Georges River Council and the main shopping district of St George. The train from Central takes about 20 minutes on an express, so plenty of people arrive without a car. The trouble starts when they need to go somewhere the train does not: St George Hospital in Kogarah, a restaurant in Sans Souci, or the airport with two suitcases.

We pick up across the suburb and the streets around it, from apartments near the station to family homes in Hurstville Grove and South Hurstville. Sedans and SUVs take up to four passengers. For a big family dinner or relatives arriving from overseas, a maxi taxi in Hurstville seats 7 or 11 with room for luggage.

The fare is fixed before you travel and already includes tolls and GST. No surge pricing, even on festival weekends. Call 02 7265 1227 or book online.

Forest Road festival

Lunar New Year in Hurstville

Hurstville is sometimes called Sydney's real Chinatown, and Lunar New Year is its biggest day out. Georges River Council's festival on 21 February 2026 was the 23rd, and more than 50,000 people came for the Year of the Horse. Forest Road and Hurstville Plaza were given over to food stalls, lion and dragon dancing and stage shows from 11am until 9pm.

That means road closures and very full streets. If you are coming in for the festival, or heading home afterwards with family, book ahead and let us pick a meeting point a block or two away from Forest Road. The same advice holds for a big banquet night at any of the restaurants in the centre.

Maxi cabs, baby seats and wheelchair access in Hurstville

Three generations heading out for a family lunch, grandparents flying in, a parent with a newborn. Ask for a baby seat or a maxi when you book, and book our wheelchair accessible vehicle ahead so it is free when you need it.

Hurstville to Sydney Airport taxi

One of the shorter airport runs in Sydney: 20 to 30 minutes off-peak, either through to the M5 or across to the Princes Highway, depending on which is moving. Weekday peaks and school holidays still add time, so do not cut it fine for an international departure.

For arrivals, give us the flight number and we will be there when you land, even if the flight is late. The full detail is on our airport transfers page.
