Taxi Epping: Station Pickups, Airport Runs and Maxi Cabs

Epping is where the Northern Line meets the Metro, and a lot of journeys finish here a few kilometres short of home. Call and a cab meets you at the station, on Rawson Street or at your front door, on a fixed quote.

  • Both sides of the station
  • Tolls and GST in the quote
  • Maxi cabs up to 11

A town centre split by the railway

The railway cuts Epping's centre in two, and that matters when you book a car. On the western side are Rawson Street, Beecroft Road, the Coles and the Epping Club. On the eastern side are the older shops along Oxford Street and Langston Place, with a kiss and ride beside the station. Give us the wrong side and your driver ends up waiting across the tracks from you.

Away from the station, Epping still feels like an old north shore suburb: big gardens, jacarandas in flower along Rawson Street in late spring, and quiet streets around Boronia Park on Bridge Street. The newer apartment towers close to the station bring plenty of pickups too. So do school families, students on their way to Macquarie University along Epping Road, and anyone whose train was replaced by a bus.

A sedan or SUV takes up to four people. For more, book a maxi taxi for groups of up to 11. We fit baby seats and boosters on request, carry pets and parcels, and run airport transfers at any hour. Every trip has a fixed upfront quote with tolls and GST included, and no surge pricing.

The interchange

Three kinds of train, and the nights none of them run

Epping is one of the few stations where Sydney Trains, intercity services and the Metro all stop. That makes it a great place to change, until trackwork, a late finish or a missed connection leaves you standing on Beecroft Road.

T9

Northern Line, above ground

Trains towards Hornsby one way and Strathfield and the city the other. When trackwork brings out replacement buses, a cab home is often the quicker option.

Metro

Underground to Chatswood and the Hills

The old Epping to Chatswood line reopened as Metro on 26 May 2019. Metro closures still happen, and we collect from the station when they do.

Roads

The Epping Bridge rebuild

The bridge carrying Beecroft Road and Carlingford Road over the railway is being replaced. Traffic control comes and goes, so we check the approach before we set off.

Maxi cabs, baby seats and wheelchair access in Epping

Tell us who is travelling when you call. The right car arrives, whether that means an 11 seat maxi, a capsule fitted for a newborn, or the wheelchair accessible vehicle, which should be booked ahead.

Epping to Sydney Airport

An early start down the M2

Off-peak, an Epping to Sydney Airport taxi takes 40 to 50 minutes. The M2 gets busy early on weekdays, so for a morning flight we set the pickup with that in mind rather than going by an app estimate.

Coming back, add your flight number to the booking and your driver is timed to your landing. See our airport taxi page for terminal pickup details.

Have these ready when you book

  • Your terminal and flight time
  • Which side of Epping you are on, or your street address
  • How many bags, and anything bulky like a pram or golf clubs
  • Ages of any children who need a seat

Epping taxi questions

Yes. Call 02 7265 1227 and tell us which side you are on. East side pickups are usually at Langston Place; west side pickups on Rawson Street.

Nearby suburbs

Carlingford, Eastwood and Marsfield are covered on the Northern Suburbs taxi page.
