Chatswood has trains and the Metro under one roof, two big shopping centres and a pedestrian mall in the middle of it all. A car cannot stop just anywhere. Tell us where you are and we pick the kerb that works.
Chatswood station
Metro, North Shore and Northern line trains, with buses alongside.
The railway line splits Chatswood in two. West of the tracks, the Pacific Highway is lined with office towers, and a lot of our weekday work starts in their lobbies: staff heading to the airport, visitors going back to the city, meetings in Macquarie Park. Businesses here can run all of that through a corporate taxi account with one monthly invoice.
East of the tracks is the shopping side. Victoria Avenue runs past Westfield Chatswood and down to Chatswood Chase, which reopened in late 2025 after its long rebuild, with The Concourse and its library, concert hall and theatre along the same avenue. In the evening the restaurants take over, and Chatswood is known across the North Shore for its Chinese, Japanese and Korean food.
Families book us for school runs and hospital visits, often with a baby seat fitted. Sedans and SUVs carry four. Groups and extra luggage go in a maxi cab.
Popular trips
Off-peak estimates by road. The Pacific Highway and the Gore Hill Freeway both slow right down in weekday peaks.
Straight down the Pacific Highway to St Leonards. Name the building or clinic on your letter and we go to the nearest drop-off.
Through the city via the Harbour Tunnel or the Bridge and the Eastern Distributor. Tolls sit inside the fixed quote.
Handy after the last comfortable train, or when you are carrying something too big for the Metro.
Office parks and Macquarie University, when the client meeting is not near a station exit.
Usually over the Spit, sometimes Warringah Road. A family day at the beach without the parking fight.
Up the Pacific Highway through the Upper North Shore, for Westfield Hornsby or a Central Coast connection.
Any other address, just ask. We quote before you book.
Victoria Avenue is closed to cars through the shopping strip, so “outside Westfield” can mean a long walk. These are the meeting points that save time.
| Where | Where we meet you |
|---|---|
| Chatswood station | Station walkways come out at Victoria Avenue and Railway Street, at the mall and Orchard Road, and at Post Office Lane and Victor Street. Tell us which exit you are taking. |
| Westfield Chatswood | We agree a street entrance when you book, clear of the mall and the bus stops on Victoria Avenue. |
| Chatswood Chase | Say which door you are leaving by. With bags from a big shop, we will suggest the closest kerb. |
| The Concourse | After a concert or a show the whole theatre empties at once. Book a return time and we wait nearby. |
| Pacific Highway offices | Give us the building name and which street the lobby faces. Many towers also have a side street entry. |
| Chatswood Oval | South of the station, home ground for Gordon cricket and rugby. Busy on game days, so allow a few extra minutes. |
Market days
The stretch of Victoria Avenue between the Interchange and the shopping centres has been a full pedestrian mall since 1989. On Thursdays and Fridays it fills with market stalls, food vendors and live music, and it gets properly crowded after work.
That is lovely on foot and useless for a car. If you are coming out of the market with shopping, a pram or someone who cannot walk far, call before you leave the stall and we will name the nearest corner where a driver can stop.
The station concourse sits below street level, and people often come up the wrong set of stairs. Check the exit sign before you ring, it saves a lap of the block.
Visiting relatives off a long-haul flight, a team dinner, grandparents with a walker: mention it when you book. A maxi cab seats 7 or 11, child seats are fitted before we arrive, and our wheelchair accessible vehicle is booked ahead.
Off-peak it is 35 to 45 minutes to either terminal. The slow part is usually getting onto the harbour crossing from the Warringah Freeway, so for a morning flight in the working week we pad the pickup time.
Coming back, give us your flight number and we time the pickup to when you land. The Metro will take you to the city, but with two suitcases and a tired child the door to door ride is hard to beat. See our Sydney Airport taxi page for terminal details.
