Book a taxi in Burwood

Two square kilometres, and most of it on Burwood Road

Burwood is only about 2 square kilometres, 12 kilometres west of the city, but it does the work of a much bigger centre. Burwood Road runs through the middle, with Westfield Burwood on the northern side of the railway and Burwood Plaza on Railway Parade to the south. Around them, Federation houses share the streets with newer apartment towers.

The station is served by three lines, T9, T2 and T3, and more than a dozen bus routes. It still leaves plenty of trips a train can't do well: Concord Hospital appointments, school runs with sports bags, the airport with suitcases, or four friends heading home to different suburbs after dinner.

We send a sedan or SUV for up to four people, a maxi taxi for up to 7 or 11, and a car with a baby seat fitted when you ask. Office teams can book corporate transfers on account. Every quote includes tolls and GST, and you pay by card, Cabcharge, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash.

Burwood pickup spots, with the details that matter

Burwood Road and Railway Parade are full of buses and loading zones. Knowing exactly where you are standing makes the pickup quick.

Westfield Burwood

100 Burwood Road. Five levels, more than 3,000 parking spaces and a cinema. Tell us the entrance or car park level you will come out of.

Burwood station

On Railway Parade, with a taxi rank and a kiss and ride area. For a booked car, the kiss and ride keeps you away from the bus stops.

Burwood Plaza

The smaller centre on Railway Parade, south of the line. Handy if you are coming from the Chinatown end of the street.

St Paul's Anglican Church

The 1871 Edmund Blacket church on Burwood Road, where Don Bradman married in 1932. A maxi cab keeps a wedding party together.

Burwood Road near Parramatta Road

Burwood North station for Sydney Metro West is being built at this corner, due to open in 2032. Kerbs change with the works, so give us a nearby side street.

Burwood Park

Open since 1882, with a lake, rotunda and cricket oval. It hosts Carols in the Park each year, so book the ride home before the carols start.

After dark

Burwood Chinatown, and the ride home afterwards

Burwood Chinatown packs more than 50 hawker style eateries across two floors, with the main way in through Clarendon Place off Railway Parade, right beside the station. From late afternoon Thursday to Sunday, market stalls set up in the outdoor area as well.

It is a good night out and a hard place to find a car afterwards, because Railway Parade is a bus street. Book a pickup time before you sit down, or call when you are paying, and we will name a kerb around the corner where the driver can actually stop.

  • Maxi cabs for birthday groups of up to 11
  • The same fixed quote at 11pm as at midday
  • Book a second car in the same call if the group is splitting up

Burwood to Sydney Airport

Close enough to cut it fine. We would rather not.

Burwood to the terminals is 25 to 35 minutes off-peak, through the WestConnex tunnels or across the surface roads to Mascot. Weekday mornings can add a lot, so we plan early pickups around the traffic.

Leave around three hours before an international flight. Arriving? Put your flight number in the booking and we match the pickup to your landing. The airport taxi page has the rest.

  1. Tell us the flight and terminal

Plus how many bags and whether anyone needs a child seat.

  2. Get your fixed quote

Tolls and GST included, agreed before you confirm.

  3. We collect you in Burwood

From your building lobby or the street out front, bags loaded by the driver.
