Close to the city, awkward to leave
Leichhardt sits only five kilometres from the city, yet getting out of it can take longer than you'd think. There is no railway station inside the suburb. Petersham is the nearest, a walk south across Parramatta Road, and the L1 light rail runs along the Hawthorne Canal on the western edge. Buses work Norton Street and Parramatta Road, and both slow right down in the afternoon.
So a lot of our Leichhardt work is door to door. We pick up from the terraces between Norton Street and Balmain Road, apartments above the Italian Forum, MarketPlace Leichhardt on Marion Street, and offices along Parramatta Road. Many of those terrace streets are narrow with cars parked on both kerbs, so your driver may stop a few doors down rather than block the road.

The Palace cinema at 99 Norton Street runs sessions into the night. Buses along Norton Street thin out by then, which is when most of our cinema pickups happen.

When the Wests Tigers play at the old ground on Mary Street, the surrounding Lilyfield streets fill with parked cars. Choose a meeting point a few blocks away and walk to it after full time.
