Salt in your hair and a flight to catch, or dinner on Hall Street that ran late. Call for a Bondi cab at any hour and we will quote the fare before you get in.
Book a taxi in Bondi
Bondi has no train station. The nearest is Bondi Junction, up the hill, and most traffic reaches the beach down Bondi Road, which turns into Campbell Parade along the front. On a warm Saturday that single stretch carries buses, delivery vans, visitors hunting for a park and everyone leaving at once. A taxi booked for a set time takes the guesswork out of it.
We pick up from the apartments on the hill above the beach, holiday lets on Curlewis Street and Lamrock Avenue, the hotels along Campbell Parade and the houses around Ben Buckler at the northern end. Sedans and SUVs carry up to four. For a group, a maxi taxi seats up to 7 or 11 with room for boards and bags.
Visitors staying a few nights often book us for the whole trip: in from the airport, out to a harbour dinner, back for a swim, then to the terminal at the end. Every run has a fixed quote with tolls and GST in it, and no surge pricing on a sunny weekend.
Pay by card, Cabcharge, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash. Pets and parcels travel too. Hotel guests can see our hotel transfers page, or just call the Bondi taxi number: 02 7265 1227.
A day in Bondi
What we are asked for in Bondi changes with the hour. Here is how a typical day of bookings runs, and where each pickup tends to happen.
02 7265 1227Early morning
Before six, the regulars are already in the water at Icebergs and walking the cliffs towards Tamarama. It is also when a lot of our airport pickups leave Bondi. The roads are clear at that hour, but book the night before so a car is set aside for you.
Daytime
On Saturday mornings the farmers market sets up at Bondi Beach Public School on Campbell Parade and Warners Avenue, with the Bondi Markets there on Sundays. Midday brings appointments at Bondi Junction and families with too much beach gear for the bus.
Evening
Bookings swing towards restaurants and bars. Hall Street runs up from the beach and is the easier side street for a car to stop in, compared with the parade itself at 7pm on a Friday.
Late night
Buses thin out and the walk up Bondi Road feels longer. We carry people home to Bondi Junction, Bronte and across the city at any hour, with the same fixed quote you would get at lunchtime.
Popular trips
Off-peak road estimates. Summer weekends and school holidays on Bondi Road add time in both directions.

Bondi event days
The finish line is at Bondi. Campbell Parade and many of the streets behind it close from early morning until the afternoon, so we plan pickups outside the closed area, usually further up Bondi Road.
The kite festival fills Bondi Park for a Sunday. Expect slow traffic on Campbell Parade all afternoon.
Weeks of sculptures along the coastal walk between Bondi and Tamarama. Big crowds on Notts Avenue, so we often meet visitors back on Campbell Parade.
Pickup points
Much of the beachfront is park, promenade or car park, and a car cannot stop just anywhere. These are the spots that work.
At the southern end, above the pool. Notts Avenue is a short dead-end street that fills with walkers, so we may wait at the Campbell Parade end.
Its address is Queen Elizabeth Drive, between Bondi Park and the sand. Tell us which end of the building you are at and walk out to the road.
Cafes, restaurants and the post office. A quieter place to be collected than the parade on a busy night.
Ramsgate Avenue and the streets around the northern headland. Handy for the north end of the beach and the rock pool.
Campbell Parade and Warners Avenue, where the Saturday and Sunday markets run. We wait on Warners Avenue.
Give us the hotel name and we stop as close to the front door as the kerb allows, bags into the boot.
Families on holiday, groups of friends and passengers who use a wheelchair all ride with us from Bondi. Ask when you book. The wheelchair accessible vehicle needs to be booked ahead.
Bondi to Sydney Airport
A Bondi to Sydney Airport taxi takes about 30 to 40 minutes off-peak. The slow part is usually getting out of Bondi itself. On a summer weekend afternoon, Campbell Parade and Bondi Road can take as long as the rest of the drive.
For international departures, leaving about three hours ahead is sensible; two hours for most domestic flights. Arriving? Give us your flight number and we time the pickup to your landing, then drive you straight to your door or hotel. More on our Sydney Airport transfers page.
